STAFF INSPECTOR.ORG This website exists to facilitate
discussion and to provide resources to those in the criminal justice/public
safety profession for staff inspections, accreditation, written directive
systems, and to further develop these processes. This eventually should include the development staff inspection standards
and development of practical staff inspector models for the various aspects
of criminal justice/public safety. |

Project 1. Issue: The agency does not wish to engage in the
staff inspection process, however some method of standards enforcement is
necessary. Goal:
Create a limited staff inspection based on CALEA and CFA accreditation
standards, related written directives and Florida Statutes. This inspection can be used to ensure
compliance and generate proofs of compliance for accreditation files. Strategy: Include analysis, audits, and reviews as a
focus or part of the inspection.
Represent the inspection as an effort to collect proofs of compliance
for the accreditation files. (Collect
proofs as opportunities arise.) To
document, create a table with the standards/laws and relate to the written
directives. Inspect each
area/function in blocks and document.
Complete a follow-up as needed.
Put the “Staff Inspection” cover sheet on the finished document ONLY
after completion and only to identify it for the accreditation file,
depending upon the acceptance level of your agency. |
